During AJE Action Saturdays continuing school program, an English curriculum is delivered almost every Saturday of the year from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm with an approach designed to improve confidence in communication and interaction in English through activity: social, creative, scientific, and technological.

In the afternoons, games, performance arts, sports, and activities are selected to offer active experiences that enhance the learning that takes place in the morning classes. They are designed to be open-ended, to capture the imaginations of the students, to be relevant, and to be fun. As a result, students improve their communication skills in an environment that’s all about applied and inspired learning.

09:00-12:00 for children 6 to 8 years old.

In this class, the challenges provided to children increase in sophistication and scope across each unit of study. Students move more deeply into the main strands of learning (language, creativity, engineering, and technology) and experience them within and outside of the school environment. They also begin to learn about leadership and responsibility.

Big Kinder

09:00-12:00 for children 3.5 to 5 years old.

This program expands on the foundations established in Little Kinder, and it introduces children to more sophisticated concepts and challenges. Singing, drama, and performance are key elements, as are role-playing exercises and positive social modeling experiences. Students move more deeply into art, engineering, and technology.

Little Kinder

10:30-11:50 for children 2 years to 3.5 years old.

Communication and the development of important social skills are the main focuses of this class. The activities include song, dance, art, and learning what it means to make things. The method of teaching helps to engage children in acting through discovery, understanding, and practice. Children are provided frequent breaks and a naptime.

Mommy and Me

09:00-10:20 for children 12 to 24 months old.

Moms or dads and their babies are given interactive learning experiences from the main learning strands: language, creativity, engineering, and technology. The engagement of parents is key to inspiring their children to engage as well. Teachers facilitate activities. Parents model target behaviors. Children observe, mimic, internalize… and learn.

Saturday Afternoons

13:00-16:00 for children 4 to 8 years old.

Kids make things. Using some of the most interesting resources available for kids (Lego, Meccano, etc.), students are introduced to concepts and then must engineer those concepts into reality. They Go Places! Depending on what they are studying in other classes, the kids will be taken on local excursions to visit and experience what they learn in real life. They Do Things! 13:00-16:00 for children 4 to 8 years old. AJE offers a wide variety of fun sports and activities geared to kids. Some of these are very popular…such as soccer and other sports. Other activities however are unique… like slacklining!
